Sh.Jai Kishan Das Chaubey, popularly known as Raja Jai kishan Das
Chaubey was born on 24th November, 1832 in a respected family of Mr.
Brindaban Das Chaubey in Muradabad. His father was a respectable and
influential figure in Muradabad. Jai Kishan Das Chaubey completed his
formal education in Muradabad and joined Civil Services as a treasurer in
Tahseel and retired as a Deputy Collector of Aligarh. For his services to
create a harmony between the government and people, he was awarded
with Mutiny Medal in 1858.[2] In 1860, received the title of Raja and Rai
Bahadur so came to be known as Raja Jai Kishan Das Bahadur . Later
received C.S.I. from British Government.
He was Secretary Scientific Society & was elected as Co-President of
Scientific Society for Life. He was also President and Secretary of British
Indian Association (Founded by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, founder of Aligarh
Muslim University).
In Mao College, Aligarh , a plaque were installed in Streachy Hall with
Raja Jai Kishan Das’s name. In Aligarh Muslim University, one of the
hostel in Sir Sulaiman Hall was named after Raja Jai Kishan Das which
still exist.

Died on April 30, 1905 MAO College Remained Closed For One day as
mark of respect to the departed Soul.

He is Grand Father of ICS Sh Jagdish Prasad Chaturvedi.
